Thank you to those who participated in the January 2018 Patient Navigation Survey from the Penn State Cancer Institute (PSCI).
The Community Sciences and Health Outcomes (CSHO) Shared Resource wanted to gain a better understanding of your needs and how we could better serve the community of patient of navigators in Pennsylvania. This included learning about how you preferred to receive navigation information, which topics you wanted to cover in refresher training courses, and what sort of research opportunities and results you wanted to learn about. The CSHO team contacted 86 patient navigators from the Pittsburgh, Camp Hill, Philadelphia, and Wilkes-Barre areas, who participated in the PSCI CSHO cancer patient navigator training program in June 2017. The team also contacted community health workers from Harrisburg and Reading. Each initial recipient was encouraged to forward the survey to other patient navigators.
